If
you are looking for a spectacularly fun yet inexpensive way to celebrate
July 4th in Evergreen this year, look no further than the annual
Evergreen Music Festival at Evergreen Lake. As it has for many years,
the Evergreen Music Festival will present a day-long program of
fabulous musical entertainment and other activities.
The
headliner for the day is the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO)
the country’s premier young musician orchestra. Members of
this group are selected by competition from the nation’s finest
music schools.
This
is a celebration of the 4th of July through popular classical music.
The morning program features the
Denver Brass with Celtic Colorado Pipes & Drums and Rocky Mountain
Highland Dancers, and in the afternoon, the National Repertory Orchestra
based in Breckenridge, performs. If you have never heard brass and
bagpipes played together, you need to plan on attending.
Of
course, the NRO is a nationally reknowned youth orchestra that never
fails to thrill the crowd with popular classical and pop music.
The musicians perform under a large tent provided by the Evergreen
Park and Recreation District. Much of the audience join the musicians
under canvas, but the crowd overflows onto the surrounding lawn.
Food and beverages are supplied by concessionaires, and children's
activities are available.
Come
early and bring a chair if you want a place under the big tent or
spread your blanket on the lawn. Gates open at 10am.
Free
shuttle service from Evergreen High School (9:30am - 6:00pm) will
be provided and limited parking is available at the lake lot for
$10.

PARKING AT EVERGREEN HIGH SCHOOL.
